Employee of the Month

Golden Heart has elected Denise “Quinn” Brown as our amazing December Caregiver of the Month! Quinn is originally from Philadelphia, PA and lived there for 39 years before moving to Reynoldsburg, OH for another 22 years. Luckily for us, Quinn relocated to Las Vegas one year ago and eventually crossed paths with us! Quinn has five daughters, who have given here for grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and soon another grandson who will be joining the family in June 2022. For over 30 years, Quinn worked in healthcare as a State tested Nurse Aide, Restorative Aide, and Hospice Aide. After retirement, Quinn found that she missed taking care of others and this inspired her to reenter healthcare and become a Caregiver. Her favorite part of caregiving is being able to spend one-on-one time with her clients and sharing stories with each other. Quinn is proud of the progress she has seen her client make because she says the experience is rewarding and very personal to her. She is also incredibly proud of her daughters and all that they’ve accomplished. In the next five years, Quinn hopes to be enjoying retirement in good health. Quinn shows what it means to be a Golden Heart Caregiver and we are so grateful for what she brings to our team. Congratulations on everything you’ve accomplished Quinn, you’re awesome!

October 2021 Caregiver of the Month

Our valued Golden Heart Caregiver, Lorna, has been recognized as our October Caregiver of the Month! Lorna migrated to the United States from the Philippines in 1980 and received her citizenship in 1996. Lorna enjoys fitness in her free-time and deep-sea fishing, and a hidden talent of hers is playing guitar! Lorna says that her biggest inspiration for being a caregiver, among many other things, is the true value of life. Her favorite thing about in-home care is building bonds with her clients; including the unconditional trust that’s formed, the smile they give when they look forward to seeing her, or holding her hand to let her know they need her. Lorna’s best memory on the job is when she went on a walk with her client, and they both had so much fun talking and laughing that neither one realized it was past time for Lorna to go! The two shared a good laugh after that. Lorna’s five year goal is to become a trainer and teacher for other caregivers. She says she would love to be able to share her knowledge to help other caregivers be efficient and successful in this field. Lorna is proud of her self-love, and her ability to “embrace the good, resist the bad, and let go of the ugly” that she’s developed over years of learning. We are proud of her, too! We are lucky to have passionate caregivers like Lorna on our team. Congrats, Lorna!

September 2021 Employee of the Month

For the month of September, Golden Heart would like to recognize Loretta Sanders as our outstanding Caregiver of the Month! Loretta, originally from Auguste, Arkansas, took up caregiving after tending to her family members in their time of need and being inspired by that experience. Aside from her own family, Loretta tells us her family has grown through taking care of other individuals in her life and building beautiful relationships with them. Her talent is the ability to communicate with people, even those that are considered to have difficult behaviors or personalities. Something Loretta is proud of in her life is her choice to become a caregiver, and she tells us that she truly loves what she does. We love what you do too, Loretta! Golden Heart sincerely appreciates your genuine passion and natural caregiving.

August 2021 Employee of the Month

Golden Heart’s amazing August Caregiver of the Month is Kimberly Kimbrough! Originally from Chicago, Kimberly says she was inspired to become a caregiver after assisting her disabled sister for two years. Something Kimberly is proud of is her job as a caregiver; she says “It’s hard work but I really do care about my clients.” Her greatest talent is being a mom to her son, whom she raised as a single mother. Kimberly says “being a single parent was hard for me but I made it through and I’m proud of him. I love my son with all my heart.” Kimberly’s long-term goal is to be able to take care of her mom for the rest of her life. Kimberly, we adore your compassion and loyalty. July 2021 Caregiver of the Month

Our amazing caregiver Makala Messenger was named Golden Heart’s July 2021 Caregiver of the Month! Makala is originally from Houston, TX. Something that is important to Makala is her family; an older brother and two little sisters. Her favorite part about caregiving is “taking care of those that once took care of us through all of their former professions.” She loves that gets to learn and experience something new every day. Her best memory on the job is singing to her client Maria; she says that just those few minutes made her day so bright! Makala is currently working on getting her lash certification, because she “loves making women feel beautiful!” She is also pursuing her LPN degree to get her closer to being an RN. Another goal of Makala’s is to build her dream home in the next five years. Your future is so bright Makala! Thank you for being you!

Employee of the Month

Golden Heart Senior Care’s June 2021 Caregiver of the Month is Emily Rivera! Emily is originally from Los Banos, CA. Emily has been inspired to give back and help people in need since she was 15, and she feels that caregiving allows her to do just that. Emily’s five-year goal is to get licensed as a Nurse Anesthetist. Her favorite part of doing in-home care is connecting one-on-one with her clients. She says “some people really just want to talk, and it’s nice to hear different stories and backgrounds from them.” Emely’s favorite memory on the job was meeting one of her clients who is in remission from cancer treatment; she says the experience was so heartwarming.

We love having Emely on our team and we admire her compassion. We can’t wait to see her grow and reach her goals!
